Sekhmet is the ancient Egyptian warrior goddess, often depicted with a lion's head with a solar disk in her crown. She embodies dualistic aspects, being a warrior, protector and healing goddess on one hand and a goddess of war and destruction on the other. Some ancient Egyptian myths see her as another aspect of the goddess Hathor, the goddess of love and beauty. Inspiration for this art piece came when I was thinking about the Lions Gate Portal and researching a blog post for Leo and its connection to the Strength card in tarot. To create this piece, I used digital collage techniques and spent many hours searching for images in the public domain. I don’t use AI. The print size is 30cm x 40cm (12 x 16”), including the white border for framing. Printed on FSC Certified or equivalent 170gsm / 65 lb uncoated smooth matte paper.
